"Like a good neighbor should no longer be their slogan... Back Story My kids health insurance was cancelled so this month we scrambled to get them covered which was an unexpectect cost. Due to this we were running close to the end of our grace period for payment. I communicated with a person in the billing department BEFORE my cancellation that my payment would be made the next morning (Aug. 15th) and explained the same situation. She informed me she would notate our account and hoped things got better. Wake up the morning of the 15th and made my payment at 2:42am (their time) but 5:45am my time. Almost 12 hours later around 3:30/4pm my husband was hit by someone going 45-50 and pushed him into two other cars while they were at a red light. They are now stating because their system had not updated yet that we didn't have insurance coverage and denied our claim. I have been with them since I could drive and this situation has now ruined what was suppose to be a loyal company for us. All because the 'computer' didn't update yet - even though my money was taken and account was paid well before accident occured. If we didn't have online payments and went in office like we use to this would not have even been an issue. If resolved I will update my review to let you know outcomes but as of now I will be filing an appeal as well as contacting state of michigan to file complaint."
